A speculative food brand concept that reframes lab-grown steak as a luxury product for high-volume beef consumers.

When 12% of Americans consume 50% of all beef consumed in the states, the environmental consequences are severe. LabBeef tackles this imbalance by repositioning cultured steak as a premium, masculine, status-driven alternative to conventional beef . By drawing on traditions of fine dining and luxury food culture, LabBeef makes the sustainable choice aspirational rather than restrictive.

The packaging system emphasises ritual and status: a box that opens ceremonially, breaking a branded pine shaving seal to reveal the steak on a pedestal. Natural and sustainable materials: recycled cardboard, Natureflex® vacuum wrap, and local off-cut pine.
